# Oscar: conversation, search and help in Telegram

Oscar (@IOscarBot) talks in Telegram groups and private chats. He follows the conversation, searches saved history, understands media, and helps find information. Users can ask him to send an image, video, GIF, or sticker, set a one-time reminder, and continue a discussion.

## Chat context and memory

- **Follows the conversation** — Understands replies, quotes, and nearby messages. You can continue a topic with a short question instead of repeating everything that was already said.
- **Finds past discussions** — Helps you return to saved chat history: find a decision, remember the arguments, or check who suggested what.
- **Remembers important details** — Ask Oscar to remember something useful for future conversations. You can also ask him to forget it later.
- **Understands group events** — Can take reactions, pinned messages, edits, and new members into account when Telegram provides those events.

## Photos, voice messages, videos and links

- **Photos and albums** — Send a screenshot, photo, or album and ask a question about it. You can also reply to an image that is already in the conversation.
- **Voice messages and audio** — Understands voice messages and audio files. Ask for a summary or a specific detail from what was said.
- **Videos and video messages** — Analyzes the picture and any available audio. Ask what is happening in a clip, then follow up with a more specific question.
- **Public links** — Works with YouTube and Shorts, TikTok, Instagram, VK Video, Reddit, and other services. Availability depends on the platform; private content and links that require sign-in may not open.

## Web and Telegram search

- **Checks current information** — Searches the web for fresh information and uses the sources it finds. Useful when the answer may have changed over time.
- **Finds a song, film or quote** — Can help identify the source from a phrase you remember, even when the wording is incomplete or misspelled.
- **Finds public Telegram channels** — Describe the topic and what you want. Oscar can suggest public channels and groups even when you do not know their exact names.
- **Finds similar channels** — Send a channel or post link. Oscar can look for channels with similar content; ask for more to continue the list.

## Images, GIFs, stickers and reminders

- **Finds and sends images and videos** — Ask Oscar to find media and he can send a relevant result into the chat. Ask for more to keep searching.
- **Finds GIFs** — Ask for a GIF that fits a mood or situation. It arrives in Telegram as an animation.
- **Finds stickers and sticker packs** — Can look for a Telegram sticker or a full pack from a description. When the original pack is available, you can open the sticker from there.
- **Sets reminders** — Tell Oscar what to remind you about and when. One-time reminders can be viewed, edited, moved, or cancelled with a normal message.
- **Inline image search** — Type @IOscarBot and your query in the message field, then choose an image. This works even in a chat where the bot has not been added.
- **18+ media search** — Explicit adult image and video search is available to adult users aged 18+ when they ask for it directly.

## Oscar in your group

- **Adds reactions** — Can react to a message with a regular Telegram emoji when a short reaction fits the context.
- **Plays inside the chat** — Can roll dice, throw darts, or kick a ball with Telegram games. Telegram determines the result and Oscar can comment on it.
- **Guest Mode** — In supported Telegram chats, you can call @IOscarBot once without adding him to the group. Oscar receives the invocation and related context, but not the group’s chat history.
- **Mini App settings** — Group admins can open the settings panel and change available options for conversation participation, media handling, and other behavior.
- **A different role for every group** — Give Oscar a character or role, such as a football commentator or editor. Roles and settings are stored separately for each chat.
- **Can join in on his own** — In groups where this is enabled, Oscar can join a discussion without being addressed directly, react to events, or revive a quiet conversation.

## How to add Oscar to your chat

Open @IOscarBot, tap Start, and ask a question. To use Oscar in a group, add the bot and address him by name. Guest Mode allows a one-time invocation in supported chats. Inline search lets you insert an image by typing @IOscarBot followed by a search query.
