How Oscar handles data.
Oscar uses Telegram data only to operate the bot: understand conversations, answer, perform requested actions, keep chat context, and protect the service from abuse.

What Oscar may receive
When Oscar is added to a group and Telegram Privacy Mode is disabled, Telegram may send him group messages, replies, reactions, media, links, and chat or member data needed for the bot to work. In private chats, Oscar receives the messages a user sends directly to him. For payments, Telegram provides payment service data and transaction identifiers.
Guest Mode
When Oscar is invoked through @IOscarBot in a chat where he is not a member, Telegram sends only the invocation message and any related context available to the bot, such as the message the user replied to. Guest Mode does not give Oscar the chat history or member list. A one-time Guest Mode invocation is not added to Oscar’s persistent memory for that group.
Inline Mode
When you use an inline query, Telegram sends Oscar the query text and user data required to return a result. Oscar does not receive the target chat’s history simply because an inline query was made there.
How data is used
Data may be used to answer and search, understand photos, audio and video, maintain memory and restore context for a specific chat, run reminders and other requested actions, apply group settings, prevent spam and abuse, track usage, diagnose errors, and protect the service.
What may be stored
Oscar may store chat history and derived context, settings, roles, reminders, descriptions of processed media and links, service events, usage statistics, and diagnostic records. For payments, minimal transaction data may be retained to confirm access, prevent duplicate processing, and support accounting.
External services
To complete a request, some required content may be sent to external AI, search, media, and infrastructure services. Only the content needed for the specific function is sent. The set of services may change as Oscar develops.
Public links
When a user asks Oscar to open or analyze a public link, the bot may contact the relevant website or service to retrieve material that is publicly available.
Deleting group data
A group admin can request deletion of Oscar data for that group through /delete_chat_data and confirmation inside Telegram. Minimal payment records needed for accounting and protection against crediting the same transaction more than once, as well as some operational logs, may be retained longer.
Security
Access to working data is limited to service components that technically need it. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so Oscar is not intended for passwords, secret keys, or other information a user would not be comfortable sending through Telegram and connected services.
